Description:
Why is the Area of a Circle pi r^2? How can we show that? The argument in this video will go back to Archimedes and the Ancient Greeks. We will take a pizza and keep cutting it up into smaller and smaller pieces, each time rearranging those pieces into a new shape that looks more and more like a rectangle. Then we compute the area of the rectangle and that will give us pi r^2. This techniques uses the idea of a limit, one of the central ideas in modern Calculus. ²
